Dr habil. Maciej Domański
Habilitated Doctor of Legal Sciences, assistant professor in the Department of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw and at the Institute of Justice. Specialist in family law and personal civil law. Author of several dozen publications in this field, particularly concerning marriage and divorce, including co-editor of the commentary on the Family and Guardianship Code and the Act on Civil Status Records. His works are published both in Poland and internationally. Scientific supervisor of an international and interdisciplinary research project addressing the legal capacity of natural persons in various legal systems, analyzed in light of the standards set forth in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. His research focuses on the substantive and procedural aspects of judicial application of law. He has completed dozens of projects and studies aimed at assessing the functioning of legal institutions in judicial practice.
From 2011 to 2015, he was a member of the working groups of the Civil Law Codification Commission concerning the legal capacity of persons with mental disabilities and family law. He has served as chairperson, member, and expert in teams preparing legislative changes in family law and personal civil law.
