The Impact of Digital Platforms and Social Media on Genual Terms

The Professors’ Network, with the active participation of experts from seven different countries organises events with the primary aim to draw attention of the European citizens to the topics which are important and significant in connection with the future of Europe, in particular of Central Europe.
The issue of digitalisation and addressing its possible disadvantages from a legal viewpoint are crucial for Europe in the 21st century.
At the event there will be two key issues.
The conference is organised as part of Central European Professors’ Network 2021.
The Professors’ Network, with the active participation of experts from seven different countries (i.e. Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia), organises events with the primary aim to draw attention of the European citizens to the topics which are important and significant in connection with the future of Europe, in particular of Central Europe.
The issue of digitalisation and addressing its possible disadvantages from a legal viewpoint are crucial for Europe in the 21st century.
At the event there will be two key issues:
- a) analysis of the influence of fake news on the internet with regard to the freedom of expression and pluralism of opinions;
- b) analysis of the influence of censorship on the internet with regard to the freedom of expression and pluralism of opinions.
At the conference, outstanding experts will present in their research fields, e.g. Marcin Wielec (Poland), Bartłomiej Oręziak (Poland); András Koltay (Hungary), Tomáš Majerčák (Slovakia); Kristina Čufar (Slovenia); Sanja Radovanović (Serbia); Dusan Popovic (Serbia); Davor Derenčinović (Croatia); Aleš Rozehnal (Czech). Each speaker will provide the research on their own country, which will be discussed thereafter.
The main organisers of the event are the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law, the Institute of Justice (Warsaw) and the Central European Association for Comparative Law.
