“The Communist Crimes –Individual and State Responsibility” Scientific Conference

On November 9-10, 2020, the International Scientific Conference. “The Communist Crimes –Individual and State Responsibility” will be held. The event will be organized as part of the “Polish contribution to the development of international criminal law, including contribution to the trial of international crimes” Project, the implementation of which is provided by the Center for Strategic Analysis of the Institute of Justice.


Competition for the best doctoral and habilitation thesis in the field of legal sciences – Awarding Ceremony

On October 26, 2020, at the Institute of Justice, with the participation of the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Justice, Dr. Marcin Romanowski, awards were given to the winners of the second edition of the Competition for the best doctoral and habilitation thesis in the field of legal sciences. As in the previous year, works from various fields of law were awarded. Due to the applicable restrictions, the ceremony was held only with the winners, but unfortunately two of the winners could not participate in the event. The required sanitary requirements were met, including the limit of people in the room.


Competition for the best work in the field of strategic communication – Award Ceremony

On October 23, 2020, at the Institute of Justice, with the participation of the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Justice, Dr. Marcin Romanowski, awards were presented to the winners of the competition for the best thesis in the field of strategic communication.

Religious Freedom and Education-International Scientific conference

On  October 8-10, 2020, the International Interdisciplinary Conference entitled Religious Freedom and Education was held. The conference was organized by the Institute of Justice as part of the “For the freedom to profess religion in the modern world. Counteracting the causes of discrimination and helping the persecuted on the example of Christians ”research project, the implementation of which is provided by the Institute of Justice Strategic Analysis Center. It was attended by outstanding experts, both Polish and foreign, specializing in the field of religious freedom.


Results of the competition for the best doctoral and habilitation thesis in the field of legal sciences

We are pleased to inform you that the meeting of the chapter of the 2nd Competition for the best doctoral and habilitation thesis in the field of legal sciences took place on September 30 this year. After discussion and voting, the following winners were selected.


” Peace Courts ” seminar

On September 18, the Institute of Justice organized a ” Peace Courts ” scientific seminar. During the event, a comparative report on the peace courts was presented, which was prepared under the supervision of the project manager and Institute of Justice employee, Dr. Andrzej Pogłódek. The conference was organized by the Institute of Justice in the conference room of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office at Krakowskie Przedmieście 25 in the sanitary regime in accordance with the guidelines contained in the regulation of the Minister of Health.




Interdisciplinary Summer School on Religious Freedom

On July 20-23, 2020, the Interdisciplinary Summer School on Religious Freedom took place. The Summer School was organized by the Institute of Justice as part of a research project „For the freedom to profess religion in the contemporary world. Counteracting the causes of discrimination and helping the persecuted based on the example of Christians”, whose implementation is provided by the IoJ Strategic Analysis Center and which is co-financed by the Justice Fund whose administrator is the Minister of Justice.


The Institute of Justice has established international scientific cooperation with the Ferenc Mádl Hungarian Institute of Comparative Law

Director of the Institute of Justice, dr hab. Marcin Wielec took part in the meeting organized by Zbigniew Ziobro, Minister of Justice, Prosecutor General and Judith Varga, the Hungarian Minister of Justice. The purpose of the visit was primarily to confirm the close cooperation between the Polish and Hungarian justice ministries. For this purpose, a document on cooperation between the Polish Institute of Justice and the Ferenc Mádl. Hungarian Institute of Comparative Law was signed. The signatories of the memorandum were the director of the Institute of Justice, dr hab. Marcin Wielec and the director of the Ferenc Mádla Institute of Comparative Law – prof. János Ede Szilágyi.
