Hungarian award for Prof. Marcin Wielec

Hungarian President Katalin Novák awarded the Director of the Institute of Justice, Prof. Marcin Wielec, with the Hungarian Order of Merit. One of Hungary’s highest state awards was given for the development of scientific and legal cooperation between Poland and Hungary. 

 

The Magyar Érdemrend lovagkereszt award was presented by Ambassador Dr. Orsolya Kovács on February 23, 2024, during a ceremony at the General Consulate of Hungary in Krakow. The Hungarian Order of Merit was awarded to Prof. Marcin Wielec for the development of scientific and legal cooperation within the Polish-Hungarian Research Platform and the Central European Professors’ Network. The decoration was awarded to the Director of the Institute of Justice by the President of Hungary with the approval of the President of Poland. 

 

The Hungarian Order of Merit is awarded to scientists, directors of cultural institutions, artists, historians. The decoration is awarded to individuals who carry out exemplary activities in the fields of culture, science, art, as well as in their own field of knowledge – in order to promote cooperation with Hungary and universal human values. In all cases, the decoration is awarded by the President of Hungary. 

 

The Hungarian Order of Merit has so far been awarded to the President of the Institute of National Remembrance Dr. Jaroslaw Szarek and the late Professor Zbigniew Wawer, director of the Royal Lazienki Museum, among others.
