The Institute of Justice in Warsaw in partnership with The Scientific Circle of Criminal Procedure of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw is honored and pleased to invite you to participate in the HARD-TALK discussion “The Right to Privacy”, which will be held on November 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. The discussion will be held using the ClickMeeting platform. The event is organized as part of the Central European Professors’ Network coordinated by the University of Miskolc – Central European Academy.
The role of panelists will be played by students and M.A. of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University of Warsaw.
In the first part, titled “The right to privacy as a current problem of the 21st century,” the panelists will address issues concerning the framing of the right to privacy at the constitutional level, also subjecting the protection of privacy through civil law to analysis.
The speakers will not be indifferent to the catalog of crimes that violate the sphere of citizens’ privacy, as well as the treatment of privacy in employer-employee relations.
The concept of “public information” will be defined, which will serve to draw a clear line in the interference of public authorities.
In the second part, entitled “The right to privacy as an element of Polish legislation,” the panelists will touch on topics relating to the essence of the right to be forgotten and thus to take control over the indefinite processing of the information we provide.
They will present the perspective of the Polish legislator on the privacy of children and the obligatory respect of the sense of individuality before the age of 18. The speakers will refer to guaranteed privacy in Polish criminal proceedings. Privacy and the limits of privacy arising from the obligation to keep medical records during the treatment process will prove to be of no small importance during the discussion. The construction of assigning a legally protected secrecy clause to certain information will be discussed.
