Results of the competition for the best essay in the field of migration law

The Institute of Justice in Warsaw, in cooperation with the Scientific Circle of Criminal Procedure at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, organised a competition for the best essay on migration law. The event was organised in the Central European Professors Network 2023 research project.
The competition was open to students from countries participating in research projects within the research project of the Central European Professors Network 2023. The essay could be submitted between 1 October and 31 December 2023 on the following topics:
– International migration law
– Criminal law aspects of migration law
– Legal-legal aspects of migration law
– Legal-administrative aspects of migration law
– Contemporary challenges of humanitarian law
– Migration law and refugee law
– Comparative migration law
– Legal protection authorities and the phenomenon of migration
– Jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights on migration law
– Case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union on migration law
– The institution of asylum in national and international law
– Axiological aspects of migration law
– Migration law from an interdisciplinary perspective
– Constitutional foundations of migration law
– Migration law and modern technologies..;
The Competition Committee did not have an easy choice. The competition attracted a large number of entries, all of which analysed migration law issues from an interesting perspective.
The results are as follows:
1st place – Damian Grabski (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań) – The institution of asylum in domestic and international law
II place ex aequo – Wanda Sielewicz (University of Warsaw) – Comparative analysis of the right to family in Poland.
II place ex aequo – Sylwia Rudzka (European School of Law and Administration in Warsaw) – Quebec’s Immigration Odyssey: A Historical Mosaic of Societal Evolution and Policy Dynamics
III place ex aeuqo – Konrad Gajewicz (University of Opole) – Techie Migrations: Bytes and Rights in Immigration Law’s Digital Makeover
III place ex aeuqo – Weronika Baran (University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski in Warsaw) – Migration Law and Refugee Law
The results were officially announced on 8 January 2024, via the Youtube platform. Prof. Marcin Wielec announced the results and said a few words about the idea of the competition, and congratulated the winners. The winners received a set of books published by the Publishing House of the Justice Institute and certificates confirming their victory in the competition.
The competition for the best essay on right to privacy was a dissemination event for Prof. Marcin Wielec in the the Central European Professors Network 2023 project coordinated by the Central European Academy.
The event was organised within the framework of the Central European Professors Network 2023 research project. The project is being implemented with the active participation of seven countries (Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia).
