Visit of a delegation from the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law at the Institute of Justice

On July 15-16, a delegation from the Hungarian Ferenc Mádla Institute of Comparative Law visited the Institute of Justice in Warsaw.

The Hungarian delegation included: the director of the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law, prof. dr. János Ede Szilágyi, Dr. Katarzyna Zombory, Dr. Márta Benyusz. The purpose of the visit was to discuss current projects carried out by the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law and the Institute of Justice.

The Institute of Justice cooperates with the Ferenc Mádla Institute of Comparative Law in the implementation of the following projects: Central European Professors’ Network 2021 and Polish-Hungarian Research Platfrom.

The “Central European Professors” Network 2021 ” project is carried out since January 1, 2021 on research in the field of comparative law, with the active participation of seven countries (Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia) and 34 researchers. Its goal is a comprehensive, international scientific activity. The main topics of the project include: the interpretation of fundamental rights in Europe, the protection of the family in law, freedom of conscience and religion in Europe, and the impact of digital platforms and social media on freedom of expression and pluralism.

Another scientific initiative that is being implemented as part of Polish-Hungarian cooperation is the research project entitled Polish-Hungarian Research Platfrom. Its purpose is to conduct in-depth analyzes of the amendment to the constitution, the rule of law, the reform of the administrative judiciary and the effectiveness of the judiciary. The project aims to conduct research and activities directed at analyzing: the nature of the legislative process regarding changes to the Constitution (in the light of European integration and constitutional identity), the rule of law, the reform of the administrative judiciary, the effectiveness of the judiciary. In addition, the research project includes the publication of at least 4 peer-reviewed scientific monographs, the organization of 7 monthly international scientific conferences and a conference disseminating the results of the project on an international scale at the end of the above-mentioned scientific initiative.
