GENERAL INFORMATION

Law in Action is a periodical published since 2006 – at present quarterly – by Institute of Justice. Each year two volumes are devoted to the problems of civil law and family law, and two others – to those of criminal law and criminology.

Due to its contents, Law in Action is unique within the variety of scientific legal periodicals in Poland. Outcomes of research into the quality of both the law itself and its application by administration of justice agencies are presented – most often prepared on the basis of analyses of courts and public prosecutors files and records. Also results of criminological studies over crime etiology and trends are being published, as well as those concerning criminal policy and juvenile crime and delinquency.

We endeavor to constantly improve the scientific level of the published articles, to freely seek the most interesting subjects, and to target the widest circles of law practitioners and scholars.

We launched a cooperation with the prestigious publishers Wolters Kluwer. We also make an effort to introduce Law in Action into the international scientific circulation. In this connection we obtained theInternational Standard Serial Number (ISSN 2084-1906); list of contents and summary of each article is added in English; we invite authors to provide publications in English; we further develop our website; as well as we intend to apply for indexation in international reference bases.
