The impact of digital platforms and social media on freedom of expression and pluralism – in specific terms

The Central European Professors’ Network, consisting of four research groups, launched its activities on 1 January 2021 to conduct research on a great variety of issues with regard to seven Central European countries (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia). The Professors’ Network organises events with the primary aim to draw attention of the European citizens to the topics which are important and significant in connection with the future of Europe, in particular of Central Europe.


Local and national characteristics of family protection in Central Europe

Freedom of conscience and religion in Europe – Actual Questions of State Religious Law

On 29th October 2021 at 14:00 will be held through the application MS Teams the state religious law webinar titled “Actual Questions of State Religious Law”. It is organized within the frame of the project of the Central European Professors’ Network (coordinated by the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law in Budapest) by its member prof. JUDr. Mgr. Vojtech Vladár, PhD. that works at the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava. The main goal of the event is to discuss the most actual questions of state religious law that resonate not only in Slovakia or the Czech Republic but in the whole area of Central Europe.


The influence of attitude of the ECtHR on the practice of the Constitutional Court of Serbia (and CC in the region) in the matter of human rights – a critical analysis through case studies

The aim of the Conference is to investigate the influence of attitudes of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) on the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Serbia (CC) in cases for the protection of human rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Serbia and the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). The analysis of selected decisions of the CC from various human rights fields would attempt to confirm the initial presumption (hypothesis) that the Constitutional Court looks up to the ECtHR decisions in terms of both the examination of merits (substance) and the methods used.

Międzynarodowa Konferencja Naukowa „Fifth workshop: Polish-Hungarian Research Platform”

W dniu 24 września 2021 r. odbyła się Międzynarodowa Konferencja Naukowa zatytułowana „Fifth workshop: Polish-Hungarian Research Platform”. Wydarznie to zostało zrealizowane w ramach międzynarodowego projektu badawczego pt. „Polish-Hungarian Research Platform”, realizowanego przez Instytut Wymiaru Sprawiedliwości we współpracy z oficjalnym partnerem projektu, którym jest Instytut Prawa Porównawczego im. Ferenca Mádla w Budapeszcie. W wydarzeniu  wzięli udział znamienici polscy i węgierscy przedstawiciele nauk prawnych.


The Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law launched its internship program on 1 September 2021 which welcomed students starting their doctoral studies from Central and Eastern European countries.

A total of seven students start their internships in the international program, who are members of the English-language “Central European Comparative Law” doctoral program organized by the Ferenc Deák Doctoral School of the Faculty of Law of the University of Miskolc in parallel with the work of the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law.
