Final of the “153 +1” competition
On December 18, 2020, the final of the competition entitled “153 +1” took place. The event was organized by the Center for Strategic Analysis of the Institute of Justice in Warsaw. The competition was held as part of the “Cybersecurity of the Visegrad Group for the prevention of the causes of crime” project, co-financed by the Justice Fund, administered by the Minister of Justice.
Euthanasia in” law-abiding times” Scientific conference
On Wednesday, December 9, the Institute of Justice organized the National Scientific Conference “Euthanasia in” law-abiding “times”. Speakers from various academic centers undertook a scientific analysis of the phenomenon of euthanasia in an interdisciplinary and comparative perspective in relevant European Union countries. The conference was opened by the director of the Institute of Justice, Dr. Marcin Wielec, who outlined the framework for the discussion and welcomed the guests and speakers.

On November 9-10, 2020, “The Communist Crimes – Individual and State Responsibility” International Scientific Conference was held online. The event was held as part of the: “Polish contribution to the development of international criminal law, including contribution to the trial of international crimes” Project, which was implemented by the Center for Strategic Analysis of the Institute of Justice.
Signing of the agreement on co-financing of the “Integrated system of preventing domestic violence” project.
On November 16, 2020, an agreement was signed on co-financing of a pre-defined project entitled “Integrated System of Prevention of Domestic Violence”. Director of the Institute of Justice, dr hab. Marcin Wielec and the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Justice, Dr. Marcin Romanowski, representing the Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro, signed an agreement under which the Institute of Justice was entrusted with the implementation of the project, co-financed with funds from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for 2014-2021 under the Operational “Justice” Programme.

Competition for the best doctoral and habilitation thesis in the field of legal sciences – Awarding Ceremony
On October 26, 2020, at the Institute of Justice, with the participation of the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Justice, Dr. Marcin Romanowski, awards were given to the winners of the second edition of the Competition for the best doctoral and habilitation thesis in the field of legal sciences. As in the previous year, works from various fields of law were awarded. Due to the applicable restrictions, the ceremony was held only with the winners, but unfortunately two of the winners could not participate in the event. The required sanitary requirements were met, including the limit of people in the room.
