Invitation to passive participation in the International Scientific Conference entitled “Third workshop: Polish-Hungarian Research Platform”

We cordially invite you to passively participate in the “Third workshop: Polish-Hungarian Research Platform” International Scientific Conference. The event will take place on July 30, 2021 (Friday) from 9:15 – 14:15 on the Zoom platform. The conference will be organized as part of an international “Polish-Hungarian Research Platform” research project, implemented by the Institute of Justice in cooperation with the official partner of the project, the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law in Budapest.

 


Visit of a delegation from the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law at the Institute of Justice

On July 15-16, a delegation from the Hungarian Ferenc Mádla Institute of Comparative Law visited the Institute of Justice in Warsaw.

The Hungarian delegation included: the director of the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law, prof. dr. János Ede Szilágyi, Dr. Katarzyna Zombory, Dr. Márta Benyusz. The purpose of the visit was to discuss current projects carried out by the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law and the Institute of Justice.


Davor Derenčinović has been elected a judge of the European Court of Human Rights

The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) has elected Davor Derenčinović – Head of the Department of Criminal Law at the University of Zagreb and member of the working group on „The impact of digital platforms and social media on freedom of expression and pluralism” of the Central European Professors’ Network coordinated by the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law – as judge to the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Croatia.

In order to meet the expectations of those interested in taking part in the Competition for the best work in the field of strategic communication “Young people for the future – challenges ahead of Poland and Europe”, the Director of the Institute of Justice extends the deadline for submitting the papers until July 31, 2021.

On June 25, 2021, the International Scientific Conference “Second workshop: Polish-Hungarian Research Platform” was held. The event was held as part of a research project conducted by the Institute of Justice entitled Polish-Hungarian Research Platform, with the participation of prominent Polish and Hungarian representatives of legal sciences.

The International Scientific Conference entitled ‘Penalization of international crimes in national law’ was held on 14-15 June 2021. The event was held within the framework of the Project: “Polish contribution to the development of international criminal law, including contribution to the trial of international crimes”, the implementation of which was provided by the Center for Strategic Analysis of the Justice Institute.

We are sorry to inform you that on June 10, 2021, prof. dr hab. Andrzej Siemaszko died.

The late The professor was a lawyer, academic teacher, and director of the Institute of Justice in the years 1992-2015.

We express our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the late Professor Andrzej Siemaszko.
